Like many horrors these films have the common theme of serial killers; using this knowledge I created a promo to creep inside the viewers’ psyche and engage their real fears. The script was written based on factual information on cognitive psychology of serial killers and the voice over delivered in a cold, ‘educational’ manner that mimicked psychological tests. The sound design was carefully considered with various tests made to see how we could best achieve the wall of sound goal that had obvious focal points. The audio and visuals were then layered and juxtaposed to highlight the films’ core elements and leave the viewer thinking well after the promo has finished.
