The primary object was to cross promote an established Sony Entertainment Television UK drama, The Tudors on Movies4Men. Our research into the Movies4Men’s viewers led us to explore a raunchy tongue-in-cheek approach, as we were specifically targeting late night viewing.
The approach was to juxtapose the grandeur and pomp of the period with a comical script and ironic sexual imagery. The script mocked a historical description of Henry VIII yet was littered with innuendo; and the voice over delivered in a camp climactic manner. The sense of tongue-in-cheek splendour was exaggerated through the choice of music; and the pace of edit mimicked and complimented the voice over.
